Just Me
Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

In May I pulled over and changed [info]manticore1977's flat tire (15 points). Last week I gave [info]owenthomas a Dutch Oven (-10 points). Last Wednesday I didn't flush (-1 points). In October I pushed [info]boobooboy in the mud (-17 points). In November I ruled Asscrackistan as a cruel and heartless dictator (-700 points).

Overall, I've been naughty (-713 points). For Christmas I deserve a lump of coal!

Sincerely,
kybigstew

Just Me
It has been a crazy couple of weeks. This past week was out of control. Cirque Du Soleil was in for 8 shows and my sister was getting married. Being my sister's wedding coordinator was fairly easy. No real problems occurred. I will post a few pics from the wedding. Oh and yes the groomsmen were in Kilts. It was definitely fun. I got tired of people asking me if I was wearing underwear. enjoy the pics.

Exhausted

Just Me
I just got home from Work. To exhausted for words. A lot is going on in my life right now. I open the new Bank of Kentucky Center tomorrow. Carrie Underwood is our first event. Things are coming together but at the last minute. My sister is getting married in 18 days and i'm her wedding coordinator. Stress level is super high.  My life is falling apart among other things. To complicated to explain. I think they said in best in The Devil wears Prada " Let me know when your whole life goes up in smoke. Means it's time for a promotion. " I guess I got my promotion......

Change

Just Me
I am not a big person for change but it has come that time. I have decided to leave my job working with pro sports athletes. It has been a crazy week. I was offered a new position working at a new local arena. I struggled with the decision and decided on Monday to talk with my current boss about it. I found out in a 5 minute conversation that he as well was leaving the group as of this past Friday. This made my decision very easy. So in a week I start my new position. Leaving my current Job has been very difficult. I work through a bank so it is big corporate policy. I have not been able to tell my current clients all 250 of them that I am leaving or that my boss is gone. Leaving a back lash of question for them of who is taking over. It has made my life a little hard right now. I care about my players and their wives. Its probably the hardest part of leaving. I am looking forward to the change just distressed about the lingering time before the change.

What was I thinking #2

Just Me
So I am home now from doing the Flying Pig Marathon. I finished yeah. I completed the 13.1 mile course in 3 hours 30 minutes and 12 seconds unofficially.I am exhausted but thrilled at the same time. I will post pics of the race once I get a chance to relax. It was nice to run across the finish line and get a text from [info]_decibel_ My hubby. I didn't see him but he was standing up on the bridge as I ran across the finish. I feel good except for my aching feet. I ended up getting two blisters on the back of my heels. That was the only causality. My sister finished about a 1/2 hour after me. I was impressed I beat her since she has done a couple of marathons before. Thats it for now I need a nap.

Ok Official times were just posted: Actual time was 3 hours 25 minutes and 18 seconds. WOW

What was I thinking

Just Me
So only days away from my 30th Birthday and I decided I was going to do something I have never done before. Tomorrow morning I am going to do my first marathon. Bright and early tomorrow 5:15 exactly I have to take off to do the Flying Pig marathon. Several months ago I started working out to get in better shape. I didn't think I would be doing a marathon anytime soon but my sister called me this morning and she had sign us both up to do the marathon. I am excited but a little freaked as well. We are only doing the 1/2 marathon so 13 miles or so. This was one of my goals I had before I hit 30. So wish me luck I am sure pictures will follow.

Update

Just Me
So two months ago I decided I needed to start hitting the gym again. I had realized over the past year just how big I was getting and I just didn't feel like me anymore. This year I wanted to make changes. I've got a lot of things happening this year. A few of those are my sister is getting married and all of the grooms men are wearing kilts(so I got to get my legs back into shape) and I'm turning 30. Because of the wedding my sisters joined the gym as well. This has been good for me because it makes me accountable to go to the gym 4 to 5 times a week. I am finally seeing results. to date I have lost a total of 38 pounds. Here are a few pics of before I started to now.

2007 in Review

Just Me
Overall 2007 was a very good year.
It started out in February when I got my Promotion at work. Working with pro- athletes has been fun but at the same time very overwhelming. 2007 started out rough for my family. My father became gravely ill and having to spend 2 months in Pittsburgh. Overall the time was well spent because he has come close to being at a complete recovery.
I have so many things this year to be happy about(Don't worry I wont list them all). I have the most wonderful man in my life. Derek has completed me. Together this year we have been able to visit a good number of our friends from Chicago to Florida. We made ourselves sick with pride this year by traveling to Chicago Bear pride, Cincinnati Pride, Columbus Pride, and Cleveland Pride. We also went on our first camping trip together. I was actually very impressed with Derek. I am a outdoorsy type of guy camping, hiking you name it I love it but Derek not so much. Before going to Roseland his version of camping was motel 6.Derek handled the trip and had a blast.
This year we also bought our first home and got our puppy "Roscoe". Roscoe has been a wonderful addition. He may be hyper as all get out but we love him all the same.
I am looking for what is next to come in 2008. Hopefully more traveling and spending more time with friends.

Coming Out

  • Oct. 11th, 2007 at 7:53 PM
name
My coming out story is a little twisted. Growing up I always knew I was different. I found during Middle school I had a strong attraction to other guys. This was confusing to me since I grew up in a very religious family. I found that I had to hide my true feelings. I hid this all through high school. I found it hard to break free of the perception of How I was suppose to act. During my second year at college I had my first physical interaction with a guy. His name was Rod and we dated for couple of months. I like Rod a lot but when Rod said he Loved me I freaked out and to my regret left him. I found comfort in acting straight because I had done it for so long. I messed around with guys but would never admit it to anyone. Finally after a year I admitted it to my best friend Missy in college. I was so relieved to have told someone. Shortly after telling her I was gay she admitted to me she was a lesbian. It was perfect we someone I could relate to. Missy came from the same background as me. Religious southern baptist family.
At this point in our lives neither of us were ready to come completely out of the closet. So we hashed a plan. We planned on fooling our families by getting married. So on July 24 1999 we got married. We had the full ceremony southern baptist style. We played the the married life game for two years. Everyone thought we were a happy couple. The fact of the matter is we had bought a two bedroom condo. Which I took the master suite and she lived in the other room. We both had separate relationships during this time. Finally after two years I had found a guy I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with. I told Missy I wanted a divorce. I wanted to finally be me.
So I knew it was time to officially come out. thinking about it now I really should of done it in a different fashion. My mother and I have a very close relationship. So one night I went to her home knowing she would be the only one home. I was waiting at the kitchen table for her.She walked in the door and she saw me and immediately asked me what was wrong. I couldn't hold it in anymore I blurted out Missy and I are getting a divorce and then right after I said it I blurted and I'm Gay. Two whammies back to back. My mother didn't talk to me for about two months after this.
It was a rough time in my life. One day my phone rang and it was my mother. She said she couldn't live with out me in her life. Since that time we have become close. She has become extremely accepting as well as the rest of the family.
I get a kick now a days when I hear my family refer to Derek and I as Partners.

Why can't I watch the football game without every other second they are talking about Michael Vick. I'm over it already. The best is when they brought a reporter on to answer the question "What did Michael Vick mean to Atlanta?" I've got the answer jail bait.
